Unleash the potential of manufacturing

Overview

At CADDi, our mission is to unleash the potential of manufacturing. To make this happen, we are developing and delivering an AI-powered data platform for the industry. We are delivering value not only to customers in Japan, but also across the US and ASEAN countries, and we are growing at a pace far exceeding the T2D3 benchmark.

We believe we have what it takes to become one of the true global champion companies. To sustain this rapid growth and continue delivering value to an even greater number of customers worldwide, we are looking for talented individuals to join us in building the very core of our business—our product.

In addition, our engineering organization is entering an exciting new phase, where we are opening the doors not only to Japanese-speaking professionals, but also to global talent from around the world. We’re seeking individuals with strong technical expertise and project management capabilities, as well as the leadership to help shape our engineering team as we move into this exciting new stage of growth. These materials are a great place to start if you want to understand who we are and what we do.

About the Incubation Team

Mission
  • Our Incubation team is more than just a feature development team. Our mission consists of three pillars:
    • Create more products: Continuously launch new products that solve customer problems.
    • Create more strong teams: Build strong development teams capable of driving product growth.
    • Create structured ways to accelerate these activities: Establish repeatable systems to speed up our creation process.

In this position, you’ll be joining a team that functions as an independent startup within CADDi. You’ll be creating a new application based on top of our core platform, CADDi Drawer, which manages large archives of engineering drawings, documents, and supply-chain data.

We have developed an initial version of the new product and are now preparing for its official release. As we move toward a full-scale launch, ensuring product quality and stability has become a priority. To support this phase, we are looking for a new team member who can lead the development of our QA processes.

Expected Role

As a QA Lead Engineer in the Incubation team, you will be responsible for leading the QA strategy formulation and execution for the new products. Your role will go beyond simply ensuring quality and improving processes; you will also need to address why quality is important and what aspects we should focus on from a broader perspective. By leading the QA strategy in collaboration with stakeholders and fostering discussions, your mission is to continuously deliver value to our customers and gain their trust.

Responsibilities

  • Defining the desired quality based on product vision, business strategy, and organizational status
  • Building a QA system and framework to achieve the mission (including training and hiring QA members)
  • Formulating test strategies and leading test planning, design, and execution
  • Reviewing product specifications from a quality perspective and proposing improvements
  • Continuously promoting both automated and manual testing across the entire software delivery process
  • Raising quality-related issues and planning and implementing quality improvement measures

What You Will Gain

  • Experience in playing a central role in improving the quality for the new product at CADDi
  • Experience providing significant value to society through the development of products that transform industrial structures
  • Experience gaining professional insights into software development beyond just QA engineering
  • QA experience in an organization with global business operations
  • Experience tackling challenging problems alongside highly motivated team members

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading quality assurance activities based on strong expertise in software QA
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing test processes in development organizations, in accordance with QA standards and best practices such as ISTQB, ISO 29119, and general QA methodologies
  • Fluent business-level Japanese communication skills
    • Examples include: Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 level or equivalent, or approximately 3 years of professional work experience in a Japanese-speaking environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing and leading QA teams
  • Hands-on experience in development and QA for large-scale systems involving multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Experience performing QA in Agile development environments
  • QA experience for Web applications and SaaS products
  • Professional experience as a software engineer

Salary Package

  • Initial annual salary is estimated to be in the range of 9 million to 12 million yen.
    • Salary reviews will be conducted twice a year.
    • The annual salary will be divided into 12 equal monthly payments.
    • Stock option program available.

Development Environment

  • Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js
  • Backend: Rust (axum), TypeScript, Node.js (Express, Fastify, NestJS)
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Istio, Cloudflare
  • Event Bus: Cloud Pub/Sub
  • DevOps: GitHub, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Kustomize, Helm, Terraform, Datadog, MixPanel, Sentry

  • API: GraphQL, REST, gRPC
  • Authentication: Auth0
  • Other tools: GitHub Copilot, Figma, Storybook
  • Communication: Slack, Discord, JIRA, Miro, Confluence

Work Environment

  • Location: Tokyo (We offer extensive relocation support, so please don’t hesitate to apply even if you’re currently living outside Japan!)
  • Workplace: Hybrid
    • To encourage team interaction, we strongly recommend coming into the office once a week.
    • In-person meetings, such as kickoffs and retrospectives, are held one to two times per quarter, usually in Tokyo.
    • Several team members also live outside the Greater Tokyo Area, including in the Chubu, Kansai, and Kyushu regions.
  • Working hours: Flextime schedule with a core time of 11:00–16:00. Includes a 1-hour break.

About CADDi

CADDi’s mission is to unleash the potential of manufacturing.

The global manufacturing industry — worth over 2,000 trillion yen — still runs on fragmented data, faxed quotes, and unstructured drawings. Critical information is often buried in PDFs or paper files, creating silos between design, procurement, and production. This leads to repeated mistakes, inefficiency, and a huge loss of potential across the supply chain.

At CADDi, we’re solving this by transforming manufacturing data into a connected, usable form. Our core product, CADDi Drawer, converts 2D drawings into structured data and links them to related information such as quality records, order history, and costs. This allows manufacturers to access and reuse knowledge instantly — eliminating redundant work and enabling smarter, faster decisions.

Building on this foundation, we’re developing a global data platform for manufacturing, with new tools like CADDi Quote that digitise and streamline supplier quotations. By turning everyday operations into structured, shareable data, we’re helping manufacturers everywhere unlock their true potential.

Founded in 2017, we have 600+ employees across offices in Japan, the USA, Vietnam and Thailand. We recently raised 9.1 billion JPY in our Series C, bringing our total raised capital to 25.7 billion JPY.

Significant Challenges

Despite being a major global industry, manufacturing has seen little innovation in the procurement domain. Working at CADDi means tackling these challenges head-on and becoming a creator of global standards.

Outstanding Growth Opportunities

The rapid expansion of both business and organisation provides unique growth opportunities. By taking on daily challenges and making tough decisions, engineers can grow significantly.
